What are Live Guest Illustrations?

My live guest illustrations are sketched in pencil, outlined in ink, then filled in with watercolors. They are the perfect addition to any event, giving your guests a one-of-a-kind keepsake to take home and treasure.

The Process

During your event, guests are welcome to visit my table, where I'll snap a quick reference photo before beginning their portrait. I'll paint as many guests as possible within the agreed-upon time frame. As each portrait is completed, guests can pick up their personalized artwork to take home. Any portraits not finished during the event can be completed afterward in my studio for an additional fee.

Additional Info

- A 50% deposit is required upon signing the contract to reserve your date on my calendar. The remaining 50% balance is due two weeks before your event.
Payment plans are also an option!

  • The Classic

    - Ideal for smaller events of 50-70 Guests
    Includes:
    - Up to 4 hours of coverage
    - 40 Portraits
    - Full Color

    I take photos of your guests and create as many sketches as can reasonably completed during the allotted amount of time, (guaranteed at least half). Many guests will be able to pick up their sketches by the end of the event.

    Any incomplete portraits will be finished in Studio and delivered to the newlyweds for distribution.

    Includes:
    - Up to 8 hours of coverage
    - 80 Portraits
    - Full Color

    I take photos of your guests and create as many sketches as can reasonably completed during the allotted amount of time, (guaranteed at least half). Many guests will be able to pick up their sketches by the end of the event.

    Any incomplete portraits will be finished in Studio and delivered to the newlyweds for distribution.

FAQs

Do you go around to tables or do the guests come to you?

Guests can find me at my event station, where I'll have a table set up. They can come over whenever they are ready to get painted!

How long does each illustration take you?

It usually takes me around 8-10 minutes to paint one guest, but that can vary a bit depending on what they are wearing and how they are posing. If there are two guests, it might take me between 12-15 minutes to complete the portrait.
However, my packages are based on the number of guests you would like painted, so whether I finish painting them on-site or later, the selected number of guests will always receive their paintings.

Will you paint more than two people at a time?

I usually aim to include just 1-2 people per illustration to make sure we can capture as many guests as possible during the event. But hey, I'm not strict about it, I'm happy to make exceptions sometimes!

Do guests need to sit while they are being painted?

Nope! Your guests do not have to worry about sitting still for me to paint them. I simply snap a picture of them, and then they are free to enjoy the party. Throughout the duration of the event, they can swing by my table to pick up their completed portrait.

Will you paint people not present at the event?

Unfortunately, no. If a guest's partner is not present at the event, I cannot include them. It is important for me to prioritize the guests who are in attendance at the celebration!

How do I know which package is for me?

It is all about tailoring it to your needs!
You can select your package based on the number of guests you're expecting, or, if you're aiming for more entertainment vibes, choose based on how long you want me around. Your portraits can even serve as party favors!
Pro tip: it's usually a good idea to go for a package that accommodates a bit fewer guests than you anticipate, since not everyone may want to join in on the fun. However, if you want close to everyone to have a portrait (perhaps to use for thank-you cards), additional in-studio portraits can be added to your package.

Will the newlyweds receive a portrait?

Of course! During your reception if you stop by my table I will snap a photo of you two to paint your portrait.
If you want a larger painting, you can add on an 8x10 watercolor portrait to any package. It is a beautiful keepsake created from a photo I'll take of you on your big day, so you'll have a lovely, more detailed illustration to cherish forever.

What if you don't finish all of the guests at my event?

I want to ensure everyone has a chance to have their portrait captured, so any incomplete guest illustrations will come back with me to my studio to finish. You can expect them to be mailed to you within 14 business days after the event, with their photos included so you can easily identify everyone.
Once I reach my max portrait limit for the chosen package, I will not accept any additional illustrations during your event. If you would like to add additional hours or portraits to your package, let me know!

What happens to illustrations that don't get picked up?

At the end of the night, any illustrations left behind will come home with me. I'll make sure to include them in with your final batch of illustrations!
