Purchased and on exhibit at the Museum of Jurassic Technology in Culver City, CA.
This original 18x24 oil painting features Laika, the first dog sent up into space by the soviets in 1957. She was found on the streets of Moscow and sent in the satellite Sputnik 2. Devastingly, there were no plans to return Laika safely to earth, and she died from overheating shortly after reaching orbit. Since not many know about Laika, I created this piece to bring awareness to her story and life.
If you look closely at the red sign in the background, written in Russian it says "This is Laika, the first ever dog in space".
