Varnishing Services

Varnishing an oil painting is extremely important to ensure its longevity. However, it cannot be done right away. A painting needs a minimum of six months to a year, sometimes longer, before varnishing can be done.

By purchasing an oil painting by Ashley Huff, you agree to a varnishing service that will take place at a later date. Once this varnishing service has been purchased, Ashley will contact you to schedule an appointment via email. The painting will either be mailed or picked up in person, varnished by Ashley, and then given back to the client.

Benefits of Varnish - 

Protects the piece:  Once the varnish cures on your painting, dust and dirt can no longer affect the work itself, only the varnish layer.

Rejuvenates color: Varnish draws out those initial bright pigments and keeps them on the surface layer, leaving the piece more vibrant and saturated.

It adds gloss: Varnish dries with a glossy finish, giving the piece an overall more professional and finished look. (They do make matte varnishes if that is what you prefer, but gloss varnish is ideal for oil paintings).
